Traveling through Thailand was a journey deeply embedded in Thai food culture. In and around Bangkok, I experienced food as a window into Thai identity, where every dish tells a story of balance, mindfulness, and respect for nature.  From humble street vendors and night markets to the refined dining at the Banyan Tree Hotel and our culinary class at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), Thai cuisine consistently emphasized wellness, sustainability, and community. My experiences revealed that Thai food culture is not merely about eating; it is about culture and living in harmony with the environment and one another.  Thai food is built on the idea of harmony, striving for the perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, spicy, and bitter. Many organizations delegate the HR department to manage their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and sustainability is an incremental component of such efforts. However, an organization's sustainability efforts go beyond building a strong employment brand for current and prospective employees. It also affects a company's bottom line.  Hotels, for example, ensure guests continue to choose their property amongst the rest by providing great customer experiences, high-quality services, and a comfortable stay. Recently, another factor affecting travelers' hotel choice and perception of a hotel brand is on the rise in importance: sustainability. When I signed up for the 2024 Thailand Collins College Study Abroad Program, I did not anticipate a life-changing experience. I had no expectations beyond learning how to cook Thai food in Thailand for course credits, and I had not researched much about studying abroad before the trip. However, during my time at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi ( RMUTT ), I immersed myself in Thai culture, gained new insights into the hospitality industry, and broadened my global perspective in a new environment. I rented a pure electronic vehicle (PEV) or battery electric vehicle (BEV) for a road trip to Palm Springs in January. That was the first time I took a trip with an EV, and I discovered that a PEV was only good for short or daily commutes. I will need a hybrid EV or a gas-powered car for longer road trips.        My not-as-pleasant EV experience in Palm Springs     Before this road trip, I assumed that EV chargers would be “everywhere” in California because California is the pioneer in banning the sales of new gas-powered vehicles.
