Urban Farming

Growing one’s own vegetables has become one of the hottest restaurant trends. Community-Support Agriculture and roof-top gardening are two examples. What happen if people can grow vegetables anywhere they want, including wastelands?

According to this CNN News video, all it takes for urban farming is a recycled container, “nutrient water” for plants, and energy. A 320-square-feet container can produce the same amount of vegetables as a 1.5-acre commercial farm does. Most of all, people can put these containers in almost any neighborhood they want and start growing vegetables for the community.
